Scenario
Brandon was a great individual contributor in coding. He was very adept in his knowledge of computing languages and developing systems and processes. However, he needed to expand his leadership presence and develop his experience in leading teams so that he could move into a management role. He also needed better boundary setting skills, learning when to say “no” and when and how to delegate.
Intervention
We worked with him to increase his ability to work outside his comfort zone. We focused on developing his competence to guide and maximize the skills of team members. We made him aware of the value of utilizing his networks to find opportunities for him and made him realize that his value to an organization was greater than skills on his resume.
Outcome
After working with Griffin Dunn, he now has a job he loves and he has become a leader in his company. He has also developed a high level of competence in leading and working alongside his team. He feels his boundaries are being respected by his new company and has gained confidence in delegating tasks to team members.
